Showtime's Viola Davis is hopping aboard the Showtime series for its second season.

This is no bit part. Davis — most recently an Oscar nominee for Doubt — will join the show in the second episode of the season and overall is scheduled to appear in seven of the season's 12 episodes. Her character is Lynda B. Dozier, described as "an unconventional artist" who will have a significant impact both on Tara (Toni Collette) and on her daughter Kate (Brie Larson).

Halle Berry attended Spike TV’s 3rd Annual Guys Choice Awards at Sony Studios on May 30 in Los Angeles.

Halle looked cute in a black halter dress. She’s back to rocking her short haircut probably in preparation for her upcoming movie, Nappily Ever After, where she plays a woman who shaves her hair.

Halle was honored with the Decade of Hotness award presented to her by Jamie Foxx.

Rosario Dawson has signed onto the romantic comedy “The Zookeeper” opposite Kevin James ("Mall Cop"). Frank Coraci will direct the film from a screenplay written by Jay Scherick and David Ronn, Kevin James, Rock Reuben, and Nick Bakay.

The movie revolves around a zookeeper who uses the animals he works with to win back the woman of his dreams (Dawson).

Filming is set to start in late summer in Boston.

Kasi Lemmons ("Talk to Me") has been tapped to write and direct Langston Hughes' gospel musical "Black Nativity" for Fox Searchlight. The holiday classic is reportedly being fast-tracked for a possible Christmas release. "Black Nativity" is a retelling of the Bible's nativity story with an all-black cast and features traditional Christmas carols sung in gospel style.

Last week at Oxygen's upfront presentation, the network announced that Keshia Knight Pulliam and her boyfriend are developing a reality show.

"The Cosby Show’s" Rudy Huxtable is going to expose her life with live-in boyfriend, entrepreneur Kaseem Penn. The reality show will follow the couple, who have been together for two years, as they live a young, rich, and fabulous lifestyle,and as they their careers take off. Pulliam recently starred in "Madea Goes to Jail", and Penn is an entreprenuer, conslutant, and investor.

"American Idol’s" season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino is returning to her reality television roots, with her own show on VH-1. The series which will debut in early 2010, will track the nine-time Grammy nominee's life as an R&B songstress and a single mother.

Jeff Olde, executive vice president of VH1's original programming, said, "Fantasia has one of the most fascinating stories in show business, from her tough upbringing to her meteoric rise on the national scene thanks to 'American Idol.' Her challenges from fame and her unwillingness to fail have combined to create a larger-than-life talent who appeals to music lovers around the world. So many people wanted to work with her on this, but Fantasia is now part of the VH1 family, and we're so happy to have her."

Fantasia will also be resuming her role in the Broadway classic “The Color Purple” as Celie in June.

In the newly created position, Langford will be responsible for setting and advancing the Inclusion & Business Diversity strategy across the company. Her top priorities will be working with business management to identify diverse talent, original content, multicultural marketing and business opportunities. In addition, Langford will partner with NBCU Corporate and business-level diversity councils to provide insight, best practice and best-in-class information regarding opportunities within the diverse creative community.

The Ethiopian model and J. Crew creative directory Jenna Lyons have struck up a partnership that will see Kebede become the first model to be the exclusive face of a J. Crew catalog. The deal also allows J. Crew to carry a selection of Kebede's handmade children's clothing line, Lemlem (which is made in Ethiopia.) The line and the catalog will be available in April.
